The Doggie Spot has a few simple requirements to ensure the safety and well-being of all canine and human students.

Eligibility Requirements for day care dogs:

• People-friendly - non-aggressive toward human beings
• Dog-friendly - non-aggressive toward other dogs
• Shares nicely - not protective of people, toys, property or space 
• Overall good health
• At least 4 months of age
• Spayed or neutered - dogs 6 months of age or older (exceptions made for large breed dogs)
• Current on vaccines: Rabies, DHLPP, and Bordetella 
• Fecal exam within one year of enrollment
• Receiving heartworm preventative
• Receiving flea preventative
• Trimmed toenails

Of course, we are happy to help with behavior problems.  Often dogs that are aggressive in their home environment (their "turf") or with their owners will be fine at doggie daycare--a neutral zone. A trial day will help to tell if it is only a turf/owner protection attitude or an actual aggression problem.  We will also be happy to trim Fido's nails or give a flea-bath for you.
